5 Trends for Fall 2019

Posted by Courtney Frye on

If you're anything like me, then you, too, rely on the glossy pages of magazines or internet articles to tell you what's in, or out, of style. I'm no trend setter - far from it actually - but as a jewelry designer, it's important for me to stay in-the-know when it comes to fashion so that my designs align with what's on trend.

Fall 2019 designs hit the runways of the "Big 4" back in February: New York, London, Paris & Milan. While there are some bold statements still being made {like 90's neon that I'm just not sure I can get behind}, there are plenty of feminine florals and lovely laces to look for this fall!

I've round up my top 5 Fall trends for 2019 below...

1) Seeing Spots!

Animal prints were spotted {pun intended} on the runway in the form of outerwear. Capes, trench coats and jackets stole the show but if you're wanting to stay on trend in a more subtle way, sprinkle in the spots by way of a classic mule shoe, like this Lauryn mule by STEVEN. Or consider a scarf tied around your tote! Target's even sporting their spots with this slim and sleek leopard print belt for only $16.99! Complete the look with my favorite Painted Pearl Snow Leopard Statement Earrings!

2) Lovely Laces

A true classic that isn't always at the forefront of fashion but never, ever disappears. It's feminine. It's flirty. It can go from day to night simply by switching up accessories. Wear it by day with simple studs and flats, then dress it up for evening with statement earrings and stilettos. If you're looking for a subtle and everyday way to lean in to lace, this lace cap sleeve tee from WHBM will do the trick. Or be bold and embrace the lace in color like this Ralph Lauren floral scalloped dress in fern green. However you wear it, let the lace be the main feature of your overall look and keep your accessories simple and monochromatic. I recommend the Pandora Earrings for a subtle statement with a feminine flair.

3) Blooming Florals

Big and bold floral patterns are blooming this fall in dark and dreamy colors yet ladylike lines. It's a romantic take on a spring and summer staple with a fall floral flair. From Ann Taylor and The Loft to Macy's and Madewell, it's a trend that retailers have truly embraced. I'm crushing over this floral silk scarf by Ann Taylor as an accessory to my accessories. The colors would pop against any brown leather tote! And if green isn't your thing, this navy blue blouse pairs perfectly with denim for a low-key look. My fall acrylic earring designs will debut 9/23 with these blue and white floral studs that is sure to sell out! Save the date for the Fall earring line launch!

4) The Ultimate Utilitarian

While this trend may be more practical than fashionable, it's one that never seems to fade away and truly stands the test of time. Featuring practical pockets for everyday essentials, the Grace & Lace cargo jacket is my go-to transitional piece for crisp cool mornings that lead into warm afternoons. It's light in weight and available in many colors. I have it in black, olive and khaki. As they say, if the shoe fits, buy it in every color.  Pair it with these camo studded statement earrings for a feminine touch  and olive camo pointed toe flat by Rothy's for an overall look that's not just  practical and fashionable but also cute and comfy.

 5) Nostalgic for Neon

While this is a trend I'm not 100% sold on, the runway says otherwise. So, I've rounded up a few fun ways not to neglect this neon trend and no one does neon quite as classy as Lilly Pulitzer. If you're looking for that bright pop of color that gives off the professional and playful vibe, consider this Braylee Blazer or the classic Elsa top in Mandevilla Pink. Or give a nod to neon by throwing some serious shade in these sunnies from Amazon. Snag these bright and cheerful multi-color hoop earrings that will also go with all of your non-neon pieces in your wardrobe. And last, but not least, if your long locks spend more time up than down, check out the neon collection of Teleties for that pop of color in your pony!
