Creating the Space

I have failed to create the space to breathe.
My goal for 2019 was to take two Fridays a month and block them off as rest days. That means zero appointments, zero plans and a day to do what I feel needs to be done on my own terms and on my own time!
This past Friday was my first designated Rest Day and y'all, It. Was. Amazing.
I remember rolling over in the bed Friday morning wondering what day of the week it was (hello - one tired mother right here) and that sense of elation when I realized it was MY FRIDAY. Girl, I was as giddy as a kid in a candy shop!
I had zero plans, and yet a laundry list of things I wanted to tackle. Bonus: I got to do it in the house when no one else was there to bother me! And for some reason, that motivated me more than anything else! I tackled far more of my to-do list than I ever thought possible and for the first time in a very long time, I felt relaxed and accomplished at the end of the weekend!
Wherever you are in life, remember to carve out some time to breathe! Even if it's a small pocket of time for you, just do it!
