February Favorites : Courtney's Current Crush List

Posted by Courtney Frye on

It's hard to believe we are about to finish chapter two in this book called 2019. February, you were oh so good to me!

I've more than cherished the slower pace of life that January & February have brought. It takes weeks for me to detox from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season so the empty calendar is something I have craved and loved these past two months.

I'm not a lover of winter weather but I have found comfort in the coziness of my home curled up by the fire! And during these months when we are typically cooped up inside, it's important to surround ourselves with the things we love to ward off those winter blues!

So without further ado, here are my current crushes...

Thayers Witch Hazel Rose Petal Toner

I have always had a love affair with the rose water aroma. It started with Crabtree & Evelyn when I was a teenager and still to this day, I keep several tubes of their Evelyn Rose Hand Therapy in my purse, night stand and desk.

Several weeks ago, one of my favorite Instagram accounts, Naptime Kitchen, went through her morning skincare routine and it included Thayers Witch Hazel Rose Petal Toner. I picked up a small trial size at Whole Foods for $3.99 and I've used it every morning since! And there is nothing routine about my morning or evening skincare regime so the fact that I've used this daily says a lot! It's alcohol free and has the freshest yet faintest of scents and is infused with an aloe vera formula that leaves my normally dry winter skin feeling soft and refreshed. To say I'm obsessed is an understatement! Bonus: this can be found at most major big box stores and is very budget friendly since you get a lot of bang for your buck.

Magnolia Home Glass Jar Candle in Bloom

I'm a die hard Rewind candle lover. {Merlot is my fave!!} ! But I think I might have found a very close second with this Magnolia Home Glass Jar Candle in bloom. I picked it up at The Local Squirrel in Cameron Village earlier this month during their big sale so scoring it at a discount was worth the splurge. The fragrance is very light and the perfect feminine floral. Bonus: when the flame no longer flickers in this soy-based candle, you have a functional and stylish catch-all container to use elsewhere! It would be ideal in a bathroom with cotton balls or q-tips! Look for these at any gift boutique that carries Joanna Gaines' Magnolia Home line.

UGG Dakota Pom Pom Slippers

I've never been a slipper girl! If I'm not wearing shoes, I'm barefoot. If my feet are hot, my whole body is hot! I never jumped on the UGG boot bandwagon so naturally, I never even considered their slippers. However, while researching UGG slippers for my boss {who was gifting a pair to his wife for Christmas}, I was instantly intrigued and immediately went in search of my size in these Dakota Pom Pom Slippers. I know, the genuine-shearling pom pom is a little much, but when you're the only girl in the house, it's ok to be a little extra!

I've been pleasantly surprised with how cool and cozy my feet have been without getting sweaty or overheated! The rubber sole adds indoor/outdoor versatility and while I've been tempted to wear them out and about around town, I've refrained! On these cold, rainy, winter days, I dream about coming home and slipping into my slippers before starting up my night time routine of dinner, baths and bed with the boys. I purchased mine from Belks, but they can also be found at Nordstrom and Zappos.

J. Jill Pure Jill Cozy Ribbed Shrug - Currently On SALE!

I spied this cozy ribbed shrug in the J. Jill catalog back in January and had to see it in person! I'm a touch and feel kind of shopper. It's a one size fits all hug in the form of a shrug! It comes in two neutral colors including this powder blush and a heather gray. You know the old saying, if the shoe fits... buy it in every color. So I did. I'm usually cold at the office so it's the perfect accessory to throw on top of a dress or blouse to keep me warm. I just love wrapping myself up in one of these on these cold winter days! Bonus: It's currently ON SALE!! You're welcome!

I'm not sure that I'm ready for March. The calendar is filling up fast and furious and I can feel the slower pace of life slipping away. But we march on and I can't wait to see what chapter 3 unfolds in this story of 2019!
