The ugly truth about bitting off more than I could chew...

Last night, I found myself feeling overwhelmed, underprepared and defeated at my dining room table. I had just finished packaging 30+ watercolor calendar orders and was turning my focus to The Earring Envelope - my new monthly earring subscription.

I was hitting a wall on so many levels - exhaustion, lack of creativity and I was literally out of time for dreaming up a new earring design that I had promised subscribers by Monday. 

Mentally, I began writing my apology email to those who had signed up, ready to refund their money! I mean, who decides to launch their seasonal best seller, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘴, the same month as SPREE & Humble Heart Bazaar all while trying to launch a new subscription box?!? This crazy girl!!!

It was approaching 1 AM and I was ready to give up when I remembered a quote from Christy Wright's Business Boutique last month. Do it scared. DO IT SCARED! Girlfriend, I was already there! I was scared of letting others down. I was scared of letting myself down. And I was scared of failing and falling. 

Then I felt God nudge me saying "𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘭𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥." God doesn't always speak to me so clearly, or perhaps I have a serious case of selective hearing, but in my sheer exhaustion, He couldn't have been more clear. 

I went to my work room and began digging through my tower of jewelry supplies hoping something would catch my eye that I could work with. Drawer after drawer I searched and then... I saw them!! Some acrylic jewelry pieces I had ordered months ago for another design that just didn't pan out as I had envisioned. I put them back in the drawer so long ago thinking "I'll figure out what to do with them later." Who knew months ago they would be THE design of my first Earring Envelope?!? God did! He knew then, just like he reminded me last night, that they had a purpose and y'all, my exhaustion quickly turned to excitement as I sat in my little corner of my work room whipping up earrings at 1:30 AM.
